We often discuss how accidents involving large commercial vehicles are typically more serious than other motor vehicle accidents. A recent tragic accident along a stretch of Ohio's Interstate 75 that left two people dead and another injured, illustrates this point.
The fatal accident occurred when a semi truck was navigating through a road construction zone. According to police reports, the truck driver failed to stop for traffic and subsequently crashed into a car and semi truck. The semi truck that was struck by the first tractor-trailer truck then crashed into another vehicle setting off a chain reaction that, in total, involved seven cars and trucks.
When the dust and smoke cleared, the seven vehicle pile-up left two dead and another individual with injuries that required medical attention. This fatal truck accident proves exactly how serious and deadly accidents involving large commercial trucks and vehicles can be.
In this case, the driver of the semi who caused the initial crash appears to have been killed in the accident. Legal action, however, may still be taken against both the truck driver's employer and insurance company.
Accidents and collisions involving large trucks often result in serious injuries or the loss of life. In many cases, the individuals impacted by such accidents sustain painful injuries and are forced to deal with medical expenses, debilitating injuries and loss of earnings. In such cases, a personal injury lawsuit may be an appropriate means to recovering compensation that can help aid in an individual's recovery. For these reasons, Ohio residents who have been adversely impacted by a truck accident would be wise to seek the advice of a personal injury attorney.
