We are proud to announce that Dallas and Alexis Hartman are sponsoring the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County’s 40 Years of Caring Jubilee Gala Event. The event will take place on September 7, 2021 at The Lake Club in Poland, Ohio beginning at 6:00 PM. The event will include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and an awards ceremony to honor the last 40 years of the Crisis Shelter’s excellent service to the community, while taking exciting new steps into the future. The event is open to the public and the cost is $50 per person to attend.
“After COVID-19 affected our wedding plans multiple times, Alexis and I decided to try and turn a tough situation into a positive one,” said Dallas Hartman. “Alexis and I planned to get married at The Lake Club in September of 2020, but the pandemic caused us to move the date a few times. Unfortunately, we were not able to use the Lake Club as originally planned.”
Instead of recovering the money spent toward their planned wedding, the couple decided to donate the money to the Crisis Shelter. Dallas and Alexis were eventually married on July 3, 2021.
“The Crisis Shelter was looking for a place to host their event, so Alexis and I thought it was the perfect cause to donate to. We are fortunate to have the Crisis Shelter in our community and our hope is this event will be the event that sparks another 40 years of protecting victims of domestic and sexual abuse in our community.”
On September 7, 1981, the Crisis Shelter housed its first victim of domestic violence. Since that time, it has continued to not only provide shelter but also services, education, and intervention to those people in our community who are victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking and much more. The law firm of Dallas Hartman, P.C., has partnered with the Crisis Shelter in donations before, including Christmas gift donations and counsel fees for those seeking protection from abuse (PFA) orders.
The 40 Years of Caring Celebration is a wonderful opportunity to continue to support a great pillar of Lawrence County as it looks back on 40 years and continues to look to the future. If you would like to attend or donate to the event, please visit the Crisis Shelter’s website at www.crisisshelter.org or call 724-652-9036.
