A 17-year-old Erie County boy was killed as a result of fatal injuries he suffered after two vehicles collided in Millcreek Township, late Saturday evening.
Police told reporters that the crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday night when the 17-year-old's Chevy Malibu allegedly crossed the centerline of West 12th Street in Millcreek Township and struck a woman driving a Chrysler Town and Country head-on. The accident happened on the 4600 block of West 12th Street.
The victim was taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie where he died shortly after midnight, according to the deputy coroner. The woman driving the Town and Country is said to have suffered injuries that have been characterized as non-life-threatening.
An autopsy has yet to be done because there have not been any charges filed. As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone who may have been a witness to the accident to call 814-833-7777 with information.
