A truck accident along a busy section of Interstate 90 tied up traffic Monday morning and sent one person to the hospital.
The accident took place just after 8 a.m. when a pick-up truck and semi-tractor trailer collided just near the Peach Street exit as they travelled eastbound. The tractor trailer slid off the road with little to no damage, but the pick-up truck sustained heavy damage and had to be taken from the scene by tow-truck.
A woman who was in the pick-up truck was injured and taken to a local area hospital, but the extent of her injuries remain unknown. Police are still unsure whose fault the accident was or if it was the result of poor driving conditions.
Traffic came to a near standstill and was backed up in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 90 while crews and ambulances cleared the scene and checked on those involved. Police are continuing to investigate and question others who were on the road as to what happened to try and get a better idea of what caused the accident.
