This is the darkest time of year in Erie. The sun sets around 5 p.m. and when mixed with wintry conditions it can be difficult to navigate our roads in the evening. If you're driving at night, it is especially important to check your surroundings when approaching busy intersections. Pedestrians always have the right of way, so be cautious around business districts, schools, parks, and bus stops. Follow speed limits, traffic signs, and take your time on the road when weather is inclement.
