As you got ready for the holidays this year did you notice angry, aggressive drivers on the road? Even though it is the day after Christmas, are you seeing more and more people trying to get somewhere and not caring who they are cutting off along the way? This kind of driving can make Pittsburgh's roads particularly dangerous and even cause serious car accidents. Even though it is the holiday season and people are supposed to be kind to each other, anyone who is injured in a car accident should think very seriously about whether he or she wishes to file a personal injury lawsuit.
As it is, aggressive driving is incredibly prevalent in the U.S. Earlier this year, the Washington Post surveyed motorists to see what kind of driving they had seen. Nearly two-thirds of drivers reported occasionally or frequently seeing aggressive driving. Unfortunately, aggressiveness only increases around the holidays.
One professor has said that because people are so focused on everything that needs to get done for the holidays that they may not be paying as much attention to other motorists and people on the road. A recent study has said that the drivers most likely to become aggressive are parents and drivers under 49 years old.
There is no excuse for aggressive driving. Many people have a lot to get done before (and after) the holidays, but that does not make angry, inattentive or distracted driving acceptable. Instead, it only exposes safe drivers to dangerous behavior and increases the risk of serious accidents and injuries.
