In certain occupations forklifts are a necessity. These vehicles, used to move things from one place to another, are particularly helpful in warehouse settings where the goods are stored in large and/or heavy packages. While forklifts can be extremely helpful, in certain circumstances they can also be quite dangerous. Because warehouses are located throughout the country, including in the state of Pennsylvania, accidents involving forklifts can occur virtually anywhere.
This was the case in a forklift accident that occurred in another state. A man who was working in a textile warehouse was injured when he became trapped under pallets as a result of something that happened with the forklift. Specifics surrounding the incident are unclear.
After the man was freed from the pallets he was transported to an area hospital. The nature and extent of his injuries is not known.
Depending on the man's injuries it is possible that he could be unable to return to work for some time. As someone heals, both monthly bills, as well as medical bills related to the work injury, continue to accrue. This financial strain often makes it difficult for the injured worker to concentrate on his or her recovery. Fortunately, workers' compensation benefits could be available to assist with those expenses.
Workers' compensation benefits are not always easy to obtain. For a variety of reasons it is possible that the initial claim filed by an injured worker could be denied. When this happens many find it helpful to work with a workers' compensation lawyer.
