Most people recognize that mistakes are made by individuals at work every day throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Depending on the occupation of a person, as well as the mistake, the consequences for an error will vary. This is true even in job fields involving the care of others, such as healthcare.
While it is rarely easy to deal with a serious medical mistake, on some level most people likely recognize that making mistakes and taking actions that one thinks will help, but in fact result in harm to a patient, is part of being human. But what happens when a doctor does something that harms a patient on purpose? Some individuals in another state seem to be facing this right now. They claim that either they, or their loved ones, received medical treatments that were medically unnecessary.
In some of the cases the patients said they were diagnosed with cancer when they were actually cancer-free. Others do not dispute the diagnoses made by the doctor but claim that he nonetheless ordered the wrong treatments. These people assert that treatments were ordered by the doctor so that he could make a profit.
As a result of these alleged actions, the doctor in question has been arrested. In addition to the criminal legal issue, he will likely face civil court cases connected to his actions as well. At least one of the doctor’s former patients is planning on filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against the man. It is highly probable that others will be filed as well.
