Each day Parkway West in Pittsburgh sees more than its fair share of traffic. While much of the time the vehicles travelling on the stretch of road interact without mishap, at times auto accidents do occur. Last week, a crash involving several cars took place one afternoon.

While it is not clear what happened to cause the incident, one of the vehicles involved, a van, tipped over. There were apparently several individuals trapped inside of that vehicle that needed to be rescued. While it is likely that they were hurt when the van rolled, information about injuries is not known.

Any motor vehicle accident has the potential to result in serious injuries. These injuries include spinal cord injuries, broken bones, brain injuries and whiplash. Depending on the injury and severity, it is possible that someone who is hurt in a car crash will suffer from injuries that it is impossible to fully recover from. When this happens, in addition to experiencing pain, someone may suffer financial difficulties as well. For this reason it is not uncommon for personal injury lawsuits to be filed in such cases.

Car accidents occur as a result of many different causes. One of the most common causes is a driver who fails to give his or her full attention to the road. Known as distracted driving, many different activities constitute this behavior. There are other reasons a car accident could occur as well such as drunk driving or a driver who experiences a medical condition.

Just what exactly served as a catalyst for this crash will undoubtedly be determined in the course of an investigation into the matter. To aid in this it is likely that a reconstruction of the accident will be conducted.
