When a loved one dies in a car accident it can be difficult for family and friends to deal with the shock of losing someone so suddenly. In addition to the emotional toll, in many situations a financial stress is present as well. While today it is not uncommon for multiple individuals within a family to work to pay the bills, this stress is particularly strong when the individual who died was responsible for all or a sizeable amount of the money coming in to a household.
Fatal car accidents occur on roads throughout the Pittsburgh area all too frequently. One such accident took place earlier this month and involved two vehicles. The cars crashed one afternoon on Route 119. It is not clear what happened to cause the fatal motor vehicle collision though it is likely the investigation being conducted into the matter will make that determination.
The drivers of the cars involved in the mishap were both men. The older man, a 63-year-old, apparently suffered such serious injuries that he did not make it and died before he could be transported to a hospital for treatment. The other man, a 56-year-old, was hurt as well, though his injuries were characterized as minor.
It is unclear if the man who died has any family. It is possible however that if he does and if the driver of the other vehicle is found to have engaged in actions that led to the collision occurring, they could decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit.
