Drivers who operate large motor vehicles such as trucks or motor homes must be extra careful and vigilant while driving. In many cases, maneuvering such large vehicles can be challenging and potentially dangerous. When a driver is distracted or fails to practice safe driving practices, serious or even fatal accidents can occur.
The occupants in a vehicle struck by a motor home were recently involved in a rollover accident along Ohio's I-75. The accident occurred around 8 p.m. when a 53-year-old male was driving his motor home along I-75. At this same time, a 35-year-old man and three passengers were traveling in a vehicle along the same stretch of freeway. Upon attempting to change lanes, the 53-year-old's motor home crashed into the vehicle driven by the 35-year-old man.
The force of the impact caused the vehicle driven by the 35-year-old man to veer off of the freeway. The vehicle was traveling at a high speed and continued to roll several times before coming to stop in a ditch. The 35-year-old driver and three passengers, ages 38, 6 and 8; all suffered injuries in the rollover crash. All four individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The 53-year-old driver who was negligent in causing the crash was not injured.
While thankfully none of the individuals involved in the crash were seriously or fatally injured, injuries sustained in rollover accidents are typically painful and serious in nature. Injuries commonly suffered in rollover accidents include those to the head, neck and back as well as broken bones. Such injuries often require immediate and ongoing medical attention as well as weeks or months of recovery and rehabilitative therapy.
