Individuals who suffer brain injuries often experience permanent and life-altering side effects. Brain injuries can negatively impact an individual's life in a many ways and severely impede their ability to enjoy life. A woman recently filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against a doctor whom she alleges was negligent in contributing to her permanent brain injury.
The woman was diagnosed by the doctor in question as having a small cut or lesion on the right side of her brain. Within a year's time, the lesion on the woman's brain had doubled in length. As a result, she suffered permanent brain damage. The woman is suing the doctor who originally detected the lesion for failing to recognize the significance of her condition and refer her to a neurosurgeon in a timely manner.
As a result of the doctor's negligence, the woman now suffers severe headaches, memory loss and vision impairment. Likewise the woman's injuries have resulted in her experiencing constant pain which has impacted her ability to work and perform daily tasks.
The woman has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the doctor in an amount in excess of $50,000.
Any injury or abnormality of the brain that is detected should be closely monitored. In this case, the doctor who originally detected the woman's brain injury failed to take prompt action to prevent further brain damage and injury from occurring. As a result of the doctor's negligence, the woman is now permanently disabled.
