Last weekend a motor vehicle accident involving a car and a scooter occurred in a community outside of Pittsburgh. Perhaps not surprisingly, the woman who was riding the scooter was injured in the incident. As a result of her injuries she sought treatment at a hospital. It is unclear if the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The driver of the car that struck the scooter was apparently uninjured in the crash.

When the morning crash occurred, the injured woman was driving her scooter across a street. While it is not clear who was responsible for this particular collision, in many cases involving scooters and other small vehicles such as motorcycles, it is negligence on the part of the person driving the car. This negligence sometimes takes the form of the car driver failing to see the smaller vehicle.

The extent of the woman's injuries is not known though they are not believed to be life threatening. Nonetheless, it is possible the woman riding the scooter could find herself facing financial difficulties as a result of the accident. This is not uncommon in situations where someone has to miss work due to the injuries sustained and is facing mounting medical bills.

To contend with situations such as this, injured individuals often end up filing a personal injury lawsuit against the driver of the vehicle that caused the incident to occur in the first place. When successful these lawsuits can provide the financial damages that can make recovery easier for the person who was hurt.
