As is the case with any type of motor vehicle, emergency vehicles can be involved in crashes as well. This happened late last month in Waterford Township when an ambulance transporting six individuals flipped upside down. At the time of the incident the emergency vehicle was taking a patient to a hospital from an accident scene.
Thought no one appears to have died in the morning crash, the conditions of those involved is not known. An individual who witnessed the event and has medical training described the accident scene as chaos.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. It appears to have occurred because of a medical emergency the individual driving the ambulance suffered. It is not clear how many people were actually injured in the accident. Nor is it known how the driver or patient being transported in the ambulance fared in the crash.
Most medical emergencies that occur are outside of the control of the person who suffers it. When someone is hurt as a result of the negligence of another party civil lawsuits are often filed. This is particularly true when the injuries incurred because of that negligence are serious and either require a long period of recovery or permanently change the life of the injured individual.
Car accidents are often the catalyst for personal injury lawsuits. Considering the frequency of them and the injuries that could result, this is perhaps not surprising. Whatever the cause of the injuries, it is important protect ones interests. This is usually best accomplished by securing the assistance of an attorney.
