A blocked view appears to be the cause of a motor vehicle accident that occurred last week on Route 65. The morning crash took place when a vehicle made a left turn onto the road, turning in front of another car. Though the other vehicle attempted to stop before striking the car that turned in front of it, it was unable to do so.

After the accident the woman in the vehicle that turned onto Route 65 from McKown Street was unable to get out of her vehicle. She was reportedly trapped for a while as rescue workers did what was needed to remove her. She was then taken to an area hospital.

The woman who was in the other vehicle was also hurt in the collision though not serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. She reportedly suffered bruises to her face.

As mentioned earlier, the woman in the vehicle that pulled onto the road apparently could not see the other car coming toward her. According to police who responded to the accident a Port Authority bus was in the way. It had stopped to let a passenger disembark. Police cited the woman behind the wheel of that car for entering the intersection without clearance.

The citation will likely be the extent of the legal issues related to this case. Civil personal injury lawsuits are common in crashes like this where other people are injured as a result of negligence. Since the woman who caused the accident appears to be the only person who was really hurt, there is nothing to indicate a civil case will be commenced.
