Car accidents can be terrifying as is. When a victim's vehicle rolls, an entirely new element of fear is added as the world spins out of focus. The victim is rendered completely helpless as their car turns over and over. Furthermore, rollover accidents can often lead to some of the most catastrophic injuries.
One woman in Ohio that suffered after her car rolled sustained injuries that speak to just how frightening this type of car accident can be. The 44-year-old woman was driving east on Ohio 16 when she bumped into a tractor-trailer carrying lumber near North Cedar Street.
Authorities say that the impact cause the woman's car to roll several times before finally stopping upside down on the roof of the car. The woman was the only victim of this roll over, as she was traveling alone and the truck driver was okay. The woman was quickly transferred to Licking Memorial Hospital where her injuries were treated.
Police in Ohio are investigating the crash, but in the meantime this woman may have costly medical bills because of the injuries that she sustained. At times a roll over may not be the driver's fault. Often with larger SUVs, cars or trucks that roll over, there could have potentially been a manufacturing defect or failure to meet safety standards.
In Ohio, and elsewhere across the United States, when there are cases of manufacturing defects in which injuries are sustained to the driver or passenger alike, it is important the victim seek an advocate that will fight for the victim's just compensation.
