Trial underway for Munhall man charged in fatal crash

Each day individuals in the Pittsburgh area die in accidents that are due to the negligence of another person. There are many settings in which these accidents occur. One of the most common is in car accidents. These accidents are always tragic but even more devastating when the reason the accident occurs is because another driver has been drinking.

The sad reality for the family and loved ones of those who die in motor vehicle accidents is that they are often left not knowing where to turn. In addition to the emotional toll an unexpected death can take on those left behind, they may also face financial constraints. This is particularly true when the person who dies is the family breadwinner.

A trial is currently underway for a man who allegedly killed a 24-year-old woman when the car he was driving ran into the car in which she was a passenger, head on. Three other people were injured in the crash. At the time of the accident, he was reportedly drunk. Currently various witnesses are testifying about the accident. Eventually, the judge will render a decision on the matter.

Whatever the outcome of the criminal trial, the man may also face a civil proceeding. While there is of course nothing that can be done to bring back the person who has died, in some cases however, a wrongful death lawsuit is able to secure the financial futures of those left behind.

Depending on the circumstances this type of lawsuit may be filed against the person who was responsible for the untimely death. A successful wrongful death lawsuit may provide financial compensation for that loss of life. It may also provide a sense of closure that is otherwise impossible to attain.
