Doctor errors in Ohio and other states across the country can result in severe pain and additional medical expenses. In severe instances, doctor errors can even result in the wrongful death of a patient. Often, victims or victims' families can be entitled to compensation for the damages. One doctor had a succession of two separate medical malpractice cases filed against him in a recent past week as a result of his doctor errors.
The first medical malpractice suit filed against the doctor involved a woman and her husband that assert that the doctor administered substandard radiation care. This substandard care lead to a severe body rash that resulted in "great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering," according to the lawsuit.
Two days later, another, separate victim's family filed a wrongful death claim because the family feels that the doctor misdiagnosed the victim thereby providing substandard care, which led to the victim's death.
If this doctor is convicted, he could face severe consequences, not the least of which includes the possibly of losing his ability to continue practicing medicine. Furthermore if he is found liable in these medical malpractice suits, the family and victims could be entitled to compensation for the damages and wrongful death, respectively.
For the first family, compensation could work toward covering the additional medical expenses and mental and physical anguish endured. For the later family, compensation may work them through their process of grief over losing a loved one and give them a sense of closure.
