Pittsburgh police car in accident in front of high school

Whether we like it or not, car accidents are a daily occurrence for many throughout the Pittsburgh area. Anyone who drives a car can be involved in an accident, including a member of law enforcement. One such motor vehicle accident took place in front of a high school earlier this week.

The incident occurred near Allderdice High School where Shady Avenue and Forward Avenue cross. According to the police, a Pittsburgh police car was en route to a call around 8:00 a.m., when the collision happened. As the police car travelled down Shady Avenue a crash ensued with a car driving on Forward Avenue.

It was not immediately clear whose fault the collision was. As a result, crash reconstructionists were going to be called in to determine how the accident unfolded.

Thankfully none of the people involved in the incident were seriously injured. Nonetheless, the police officer and the two occupants of the other car involved were all transported to a hospital to make sure they were all okay.

As news stories routinely communicate, injuries resulting from car accidents vary widely. Depending on the circumstances, someone involved may end up with scratches, bruises or broken bones. In more serious crashes, brain or spinal injuries may be the result.

When someone is injured in a car accident that is the result of another person's negligent behavior, it may be possible to receive financial compensation via a personal injury lawsuit. These cases are often complex. For that reason, it is usually a good idea to consult an experienced personal injury attorney.
