Naked man takes spin on turntable following accident

An accident in Upper Macungie Township took a weird turn when a man driving a car that hit a tractor-trailer, took his clothes off and stood on a record player placed in the concrete median. For those unfamiliar with a record player, it is a device that was used to listen to music on records before the invention of cassette tapes, compact discs and MP3 players. It is unclear where the record player came from. The 28-year-old man was allegedly intoxicated at the time.

The car accident occurred as he drove his car eastbound on Interstate 78 in the late afternoon. He lost control and hit a median several times before hitting the semitrailer. The car then again hit the median. One of the collisions caused a piece of the man's vehicle to break off and hit another car on the road. It was after his car came to a stop and he disembarked that he took his clothes off and took his spin on the turntable. He then, still naked, fled the scene.

Once arrested, the man was charged with several crimes. In addition to a few summary offenses, he was charged with open lewdness, driving under the influence and being involved in an accident that caused damage to property.

The naked man was taken to the hospital, presumably after getting dressed. He was apparently the only person injured in the incident. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The outcome of this accident could have been much worse. While it is at times impossible to prevent car accidents, those that are due to drunk driving are completely preventable.
