This past summer we wrote about the death of MTV reality show star Ryan Dunn in a Pennsylvania car accident. Dunn was intoxicated when he drove his speeding Porsche off the road killing both himself and his passenger. At the time of the drunk driving incident, his friend and fellow MTV reality show star, Bam Margera was quoted as saying the accident was a wake-up call to him.
Less than six months later, Bam Margera was he himself involved in a car accident while driving his Porsche in Pennsylvania. According to Margera, the accident, which apparently occurred near his home in Pocopson Township, was due to a truck making a wide turn. As a result of the turn, he said, the truck crushed the left side of the Porsche. Margera had purchased the Porsche only months earlier after his friend’s death.
Unlike the accident that resulted in the death of his friend, there is no information regarding speed or alcohol playing a role in the car crash. Fortunately it does not appear that anyone was injured in the wreck.
Motor vehicle accidents can occur even when someone is following the rules of the road if another driver performs a negligent act. When a person is injured due to the negligence of another driver, the injured party may be able to recover damages for their injuries. If successful, a personal injury lawsuit may recover compensation for things such as medical bills and pain and suffering. Depending on the severity of the person’s injuries, this money can potentially make a big difference in that person’s recovery.
Contact a Pittsburgh personal injury attorney if you or a loved one has suffered injuries or wrongful death after a car accident.
