Often when one hears about a small plane crash, it is immediately followed by information regarding the resulting deaths. While it may seem like this is always the case, fortunately it is not always the outcome of plane accidents.
Earlier this month a plane crashed in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania, and all of its passengers survived. The twin-engine Beechcraft plane contained four passengers at the time of the crash. It crashed into a garage on Johnson Road late in the afternoon.
Though all four men survived, they did sustain injuries in the accident. One passenger was transported to Olean General Hospital by helicopter. Two others were taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. The fourth occupant was reportedly taken to the emergency room at Olean General Hospital, but was not admitted for treatment.
Though it appears that none of the injuries sustained were life-threatening, depending on the severity of the injuries, the plane's occupants could face long recoveries. Such recoveries could result in lost wages and large medical bills. Because this could lead to financial difficulties for many, people injured due to the negligence of another person may be able to recover compensation for these types of expenses, among other things.
This may be accomplished via a personal injury lawsuit. It can be difficult for those injured due to the negligence of a friend to file such a lawsuit. For that reason it is important to work with an experience attorney with whom one feels comfortable. Ultimately, the goal is to make sure the injured party has the necessary finances to cover injury related expenses.
Both the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the accident.
