Two people were killed recently in a car crash less than an hour from Pittsburgh. The driver of the other vehicle in the crash had to be airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. The incident illustrates just how swiftly and unexpectedly car crashes can forever change the lives of those involved.
The unfortunate car accident occurred in Connellsville just after 10 p.m. Monday when the driver crossed the centerline of the road and hit an oncoming vehicle. At this point, law enforcement authorities have not determined what led the driver to cross the centerline.
The 22-year-old driver and his 23-year-old passenger died in the accident. The 66-year-old driver of the other car was flown to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian hospital immediately after the incident to receive treatment for his injuries. His condition is not known.
It is very frightening how easily a car crash like this can result in serious injuries or death. Car accidents often occur quickly and with no warning, so people are not prepared – one minute they are fine and the next, they are severely injured and wondering how they can pick up the pieces. It would be best if car accidents never occurred in the first place, but it is just a fact of life that they do happen.
People who have been hurt in car accidents might find some solace after speaking with an attorney who practices personal injury law. This attorney will be able to listen to the facts of your situation and determine whether you are likely to be able to recover for your injuries and injury-related expenses. That will not undo the damage of the accident, of course, but it’s a step in the right direction towards moving beyond what happened.
