Parents of toddler aged children throughout the state of Pennsylvania are likely all too aware of how much energy they have each day. In an effort to help them expel that energy in a constructive manner, many parents seek out products that keep the children moving until bedtime. One such type of these products is mini trampolines.
Recently, one of these trampolines was determined to be a defective product. The toddler-sized trampoline from Alex Toys is called 786X Little Jumpers Trampoline. The recall of the brightly colored trampoline, clearly geared toward young children, is due to the concern that a handlebar, that is designed to provide something for children to hold onto to stabilized themselves, in fact presents a fall hazard. It could reportedly break while in use.
The trampoline was sold in stores, apparently throughout the nation, for a three month period beginning in January 2012. Approximately 8,000 units of the piece of equipment, which retailed for $100, were sold during that time.
Alex Toys is offering replacement trampolines for all who are interested. Even if someone does not want a new one, to avoid being injured, they should nonetheless stop using the trampoline.
It is unclear whether any young children have actually been hurt while using the defective product. Should anyone have been injured using the product a products liability lawsuit may be appropriate. These often complex civil lawsuits could potentially provide the finances necessary for parents of children hurt on the trampoline to deal with any injuries sustained.
