Anesthesiologist may be to blame for medical malpractice case

One man underwent elective surgery as a means of treatment for his erectile dysfunction. The man states that the anesthesiologist never should have cleared him for surgery because of his high blood pressure and diabetes. The victim argues that these pre-existing in combination with the doctor error led the series of events that led to the amputation of his genitalia.

Reportedly, after the penile implant surgery, the man contracted gangrene. Consequently, doctors claim that his genitalia needed to be removed to save his life. Not only has the man been disfigured, he may feel that he has been robbed of part of his manhood.

Medical malpractice claims are successful when victims can prove that negligence either on the part of a doctor, nurse or hospital resulted in injury, death, misdiagnosis or mistreatment. In this instance, as previously stated, the victim claims that the anesthesiologist was negligent in clearing the victim for surgery.

If a jury were to agree with the victim, the victim could be entitled to compensation. Compensation would not only cover the medical expenses and physical pain that this man likely suffered, but it could cover the emotional pain as well.

The victim has settled a 2009 lawsuit against the urologist that performed the surgery, but it appears that this man, rightfully so, wants more justice for what has happened to him. Hopefully this additional medical malpractice claim will give the man a sense of closure regarding those who have wronged him.
