Worker killed at Pennsylvania paper company

While none of us like to think about it, fatal accidents occur every day. They happen in a variety of locations including workplaces.

An industrial work accident last month resulted in the death of a Pennsylvania man who worked in a Procter & Gamble Inc. paper factory. He reportedly sustained injuries to his head that resulted in his death.

At the time of the accident, the 36-year-old man was performing repairs on a machine. It is not clear exactly what the man was doing when he was injured or how the machine was involved. The production line had been shut down for the repair and regular maintenance.

The man’s employer is investigating the incident. Should negligence on the part of the employer be found to exist, the family of the deceased many may decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the business. Successful lawsuits resulting from accidents such as this one provide compensation to the family of the deceased person for the death. This money can make it easier for those left behind to move forward with their lives.

These cases are often difficult to pursue both on the emotional front for the family, as well as legally for the attorney who takes the case. For those who do decide to file such a lawsuit, in addition to financial compensation, they also often provide a sense of closure that can otherwise be difficult to obtain.

As is the case after incidents such as this one, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has also launched and investigation into the accident.
