One Ohio teen that was supposed to be provided for under at-home care trough Medicaid-funded care has passed away due to what may be negligence. The father is seeking justice against the nurses and mother he says failed to take care of his daughter. The father asserts that his teenage daughter, living in Ohio, starved to death because of the mother's negligence and nurse negligence.

A representative of the presumably devastated father that lived out of state is quoted as saying, "He was always told everything was fine. He was kept in the dark…"

The father has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the companies that employed the at-home care nurses, Exclusive Home Health Care of Dayton and CareStar of Ohio. In addition, the Ohio teen's mother and three nurses are all facing criminal charges as a result of the girl's "medical and nutritional neglect" and are set to appear in court. The charges against the named are for not properly providing the care and/or supervision necessary to keep the departed child alive.

Furthermore, the state of Ohio through the state Department of Jobs & Family Services pulled Exclusive's agreements to care for Medicaid-funded patients all across the state and rescinded an offer that would have extend CareStar's contract in the wake of the Ohio teen's possible wrongful death.

No amount of compensation may be adequate to assuage this father's pain in the face of a daughter taken too soon. While compensation will not bring back this man's daughter, damages may work to give this father some sense of closure and of justice.
