Man hits the same car multiple times in road rage incident

There are times when car accidents in the Pittsburgh area are inevitable. In these situations everyone on the road could be doing exactly what they are supposed to and still be involved in a crash. Other times however, collisions can be blamed on the negligent or sometimes just plain ridiculous behavior of a person behind the wheel of a car. Accidents that are the result of road-rage are examples of the latter.

Earlier this week a car accident occurred when a driver repeatedly hit another car on purpose. The 53-year-old man from Slippery Rock who was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, reportedly first rear-ended another vehicle close to where State Route 308 and State Route 8 intersect.

The second time the man collided with the same vehicle it was after the driver of the vehicle had gotten out of his car, most likely to try to determine what was going on. The man driving the vehicle that had been hit apparently then got back in his car a proceeded to drive it to a police station located on Barracks Road. When he reached his destination, the man in the pickup struck the vehicle for a third time, this time actually moving it up the road a ways.

Shortly thereafter police officers attempted to pull the pickup driver over. He fled but was apprehended after a struggle that necessitated the use of something similar to pepper-spray.

It is unclear what the man in the other car did to provoke the pickup truck driver. It is also unclear whether the other man sustained any injuries in the incident. What is clear is that the pickup truck driver's behavior was outside the bounds of what is acceptable on Pittsburgh area roads.
