Throughout Pennsylvania individuals take prescription drugs and supplements. While at times the duration for which they must take the medication is short, others rely on it to keep their bodies functioning in a normal way and will consume many different substances over a period of years.
Most people of a certain age understand the dangers associated with taking a medication that is not theirs. There are times however when someone is unwittingly injured after taking the wrong thing, or too much of a medication.
Because each drug and supplement has different instructions regarding how often it is to be taken, it is important to keep medications as organized as possible. Also, due to the potentially life-threatening result that can come to pass if a drug is consumed by someone other than for who it is intended, the pills must be kept in a safe place
For these reasons, many manufactures have created containers to store medication. People throughout the nation rely upon these containers to keep them and their loved ones safe.
Recently, one such container was recalled. In total the recall affected around 59,600 containers. Imported by Locker Brand Inc., the product was sold for over a year both online as well as in the following retail stores: Walgreens, CVS and Bed, Bath & Beyond. First available for purchase in June 2001, it continued to be sold through October 2011.
The container, which actually was designed with a combination lock to keep its contents safe, can apparently fairly easily be opened using just a little force, even when it is locked. This could potentially pose a huge danger to individuals, particularly children who do not always understand how medicine works. Fortunately however, thus far no incidents have been reported and no one has been injured.
