Fatal accidents happen regularly throughout the country including the state of Pennsylvania. By far, the most deaths heard about are due to motor vehicles accidents. This is clearly not the only type of accident that leads to someone's death, however. Some fatal accidents occur while people are engaged in recreational activities. One such accident occurred late last month when a man from Coraopolis died while skiing.
The accident occurred while the 36-year-old man was skiing at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, located in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. According to Pennsylvania State Police, as the man was skiing down a hill, he reportedly lost control. As a result, he skied off the trail he was on and went into a rocky area that was heavily wooded. At the time, he appeared to be skiing at a fast pace.
When the man left the slope's trail, he apparently hit his head on something which cause him to lose consciousness. Not long after the accident occurred, the man died.
In this case, at this point, it appears that the man's death was a result of the actions of the skier. In situations where someone else's negligence is to blame however, the family of the deceased may decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the responsible party. This type of lawsuit, when successful, assigns a dollar amount to the value of the deceased person's life. The process can be difficult for people to endure emotionally. An experienced personal injury lawyer may help make that process a little easier.
