Sadly it is not uncommon for workers to be injured at work. This is true in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Sometimes the injuries sustained in an accident are so severe that they result in the death of the employee.
An employee of Highlands Drilling, LLC, a gas drilling company died last month after being involved in a work-related accident in Pennsylvania. A forklift ran over the 35-year-old man who was working at a well site in Duncan Township, near Antrim. The injuries the man sustained in the fatal accident were serious and lead to his death.
Pennsylvania State Police completed an investigation of the incident. They found nothing unexplained or suspicious related to the man's death. In situations like this it is not uncommon for the family of the person who died to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Through a lawsuit like this loved ones of the deceased may recoup financial compensation for the loss of life.
These civil lawsuits are often leally complex and emotionally difficult for families. In a successful case the family receives the amount of money the life of the deceased is deemed to be worth. For someone who just wants his or her family member back that can seem insulting. The reality however, is at times it is the only justice that can be attained.
The goal at the end of this kind of case is to make it easier for those left behind to move forward with their lives. Most experienced personal injury attorneys do what they can to make the process as painless as possible.
