Too often these days it seems like every time one turns on the news or opens a newspaper a bad act on the part of a person results in an injury to someone else. This is of course not always the case. There are good people out there who want to do what they can to help those around them. Unfortunately, good intentions do not always translate into a good outcome. A western Pennsylvania woman is all too aware of this.
The woman was attempting to do a good deed -help a man catch his dog -when she was injured when she was hit by her own car. The Jack Russell Terrier she was chasing had chewed through its leash and escaped from its owner who was described as an elderly man.
The strange accident ensued after the woman stopped her car on a slight hill. In her haste to assist the man she apparently forgot to put her car in park. She was hit by the car's door when the vehicle began to roll.
The incident in North Huntington caused the woman to sustain chest pains and she was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh via helicopter. It is unknown whether those pains were due to the impact of the car door hitting her, or if they had something to do with her heart.
Her current condition is unknown but we can all hope that she recovers fully. Most would agree it is nice to know that there are people like her who are willing to help others in need.
