Early morning car accident responsible for death of Pa. man

Car accidents happen every day throughout the state of Pennsylvania. They involve many different types of motor vehicles and occur at all hours of the day. In the best cases car accidents result in minor or no injuries to the parties involved. In more tragic situations a person sustains such serious injuries that he or she dies.

Earlier this week just as most people were rousing themselves from sleep, a fatal accident occurred. The accident took place on Old York Road in Warrington Township and involved two vehicles whose drivers were both from Dillsburg. The cars reportedly collided just to the south of Lisburn Road after a Saturn headed north, driven by a 20-year-old man, crossed the center line and hit a Chevy Impala that was headed in the opposite direction. The driver of the Chevy was a 59-year-old woman.

Though both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, the 20-year-old man died in the crash. The woman in the other car was injured and was airlifted to York Hospital for treatment. Her condition and the nature of her injuries are not known.

Motor vehicle accidents occur for a variety of reasons. Sometimes external factors such as road conditions or the weather are to blame. Other times accidents are due to the behavior of the driver. Examples of this include distracted driving or driving under the influence. In this case it is currently unknown what caused the man's car to cross the center line. What is clear is that at 20-years-old, the young man died much too soon.
