A woman was injured in a single-car accident last weekend in Plainfield Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast, the woman driving a 2000 Ford Taurus was travelling south on Route 33 when she lost control of her car. Before rolling and sliding on its roof, the vehicle hit a median and spun multiple times. The rollover accident caused a lot of damage to her car and caused the road to be shut down while the scene was attended to.
After the accident the woman, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported to Pocono Medical Center. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown and police are not sure what caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
A rollover accident is a scary experience for those involved. It is not uncommon for individuals involved in such types of crashes to sustain serious injuries. It is usually assumed that the driver of the vehicle that rolled is to blame for the accident. This belief is particularly common in single-car accidents. The assumption is not always the correct however. In some instances, cars roll due to how they are manufactured.
If an individual is injured in a rollover accident that can be attributed to an improperly manufactured automobile, he or she may be entitled to seek damages from the manufacturer. Because these types of cases are extremely complicated, if you believe you have been injured in a rollover accident that is due to a defective motor vehicle, it is important to seek assistance as quickly as possible.
