A truck accident involving one tractor trailer and two passenger vehicles in Shenango Township, Pennsylvania has injured three people. The truck collision occurred on the eastbound exit ramp of interstate 80 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Two men in their sixties from Sheffield, Ohio and a 32 year old man from Avon, Ohio were injured. They were taken to local hospitals.

This truck accident happened when one of the passenger vehicles was attempting to exit interstate 80 and was traveling behind an SUV that was trying to merge onto the highway but could not because of traffic. Then, a tractor trailer being operated by a Brooklyn, New York man rear ended the vehicle that was trying to exit I-80. The truck was also trying to exit the interstate. After being struck in a rear end collision, the car spun out and hit the SUV and then the guard rail.

Merging onto and exiting highways are highly dangerous areas of the road. When exiting, it is critical to keep a safe distance ahead of you so that you are able to stop without rear ending the vehicle in front of you. Pennsylvania law requires that no driver travel at a speed greater than will permit the driver to bring his/her vehicle to a stop within the assured clear distance ahead.
