On Wednesday, 3 October, a man on a motorcycle was tragically killed in an accident in Youngstown. According to police, the motorcyclist and another vehicle crash into each other at approximately 1 p.m. The accident happened at the intersection of Market Street and Elva Avenue, between Midlothian Boulevard and Shields Road / Indianola Road, in Youngstown’s south side.

Police told reporters that the driver of the motorcycle suffered major injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed via ambulance to a local hospital where he later died. The police have not yet released the identity of the victim. Police say the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were not hurt.

The accident closed down the portion of Route 7 / Market Street for about three hours while first responders cleared the scene and police questioned witnesses. Police are continuing to investigate in an effort to find out exactly what happened and to determine who, if anyone, was at fault.
