Car accidents can happen anywhere at any time. Generally when we hear of car accidents, we assume they happen on winding rural roads or open highways with speedy drivers; but car accidents can also happen when and where we least expect them. An accident at the Meadville Dairy Queen drive-thru is posing many of those questions. The accident happened Tuesday evening at around 8 p.m. Both of the women suffered serious injuries and had to be evacuated to UPMC Hamot via helicopter.

Police tell reporters that a twenty-four-year-old man was driving east on State route 322 at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday when his vehicle drifted off the road and through a Days Inn motel parking lot before crashing into a van that was parked in the Dairy Queen parking lot.

Police say the man then hit a female pedestrian from Meadville and her female passenger who was still in the first woman's vehicle. The women were rushed to the hospital shortly after the accident thanks to diligent first responders. The suspect was taken to the Meadville Medical Center to be treated. An update on the health of all those involved has not yet been given.

Police have not said why the accident happened or what caused the man to drive off the road. They have only said that an investigation in ongoing.
