Passenger from Salem, OH in critical condition after single vehicle accident

Two men from Salem, Ohio were hurt in a car accident on Monday afternoon. The accident happened on Garfield Road in Goshen Township.

An Ohio State Policeman told reporters that a 24-year-old Salem man was travelling west on rural Garfield Road between Seacrist Road and South Princeton Road / Route 534 when his vehicle drifted left of the center yellow line. The man then jerked the car back into position and went off the right side of the road. His 1998 Chrysler Sebring's passenger side struck a telephone poll before coming to a stop.

The 24-year-old driver was transported to the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. He was listed in stable condition as of late Monday evening. His passenger, a 23-year-old man also from Salem, was reportedly trapped inside the Sebring and had to freed and rescued by the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department. He was then Life-Flighted to the St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was last listed in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation and police have not yet made any mention of whether or not drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident.

Many victims of traumatic injuries, like the ones sustained by the passenger of this automobile accident, require several surgeries, years of rehabilitation, and endless medical care in an effort to regain some version of the life they had before their accident. Medical care after a collision like this can be extremely expensive and leave you and your family wondering what you're going to do as the medical bills continue to accumulate; especially while you're unable to return to your job and bring in a steady income.

If you have been hurt, or if you have lost someone close to you in a car accident due to the negligence of another driver, you are likely entitled to compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, pain, suffering, and loss of quality of life. The most important thing you can do is see the necessary physicians and surgeons to get you as healthy as possible as soon as possible. The second thing you should do is call a quality personal injury attorney and ask the pertinent questions that pertain to your particular accident.
