A man from Pittsburgh remains in serious condition in an area hospital after a weekend automobile accident. The accident happened on Route 22 in Indiana County.

A 47-year-old man slid through the intersection of Route 22 and Lintner Road in Blairsville near Sheetz as he was travelling west just after 4 p.m. on Saturday. Another 47-year-old from Black Lick, PA was making a left to head east bound on Route 22 when the first man lost control. 

The driver's side panel of the westbound vehicle slid and struck the eastbound vehicle passenger's side door, injuring both the man and his 15-year-old son, who was in the front passenger's seat, according to Pennsylvania State Police from the Ebensburg station.

The man whose vehicle slid out of control had to be pulled out of his car and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center in White, PA to be treated. The other driver sustained serious injuries to his lower torso. His 15-year-old son also sustained minor injuries. They were both taken to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, PA, according to state police.

Fortunately, all three people involved in the accident were wearing the safety belts.
