A car accident in Youngstown's East Side sent three people to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. The accident took place at the intersection of Oak Street and Fruit Street near the Six Brothers Food Mart and Six Brothers Auto Sales.
The accident involved a minivan and a pickup truck. Passersby said the minivan was approaching Fruit Street on U.S. Route 422 (Oak Street) when it slid through the intersection and plowed into the truck. The speed and impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to flip, injuring both the driver and passenger of the truck, as well as a passenger in the van.
All three injured people were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown to be treated, but the extent of their injuries are still undisclosed. Officials weren't saying much about the accident as it remains under investigation.
