Pittsburgh area head-on crash claims life of woman

A Butler County woman sadly lost her life earlier this week when she suffered serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident on Route 286. She suffered both chest and head injuries which led to her death. The 80-year-old woman died at the scene following the head-on accident.

According to state police, the car accident occurred when something caused the woman's vehicle to cross the center line, into oncoming traffic. When the vehicle did this, it collided with a pickup travelling in the opposite direction. The collision left both drivers trapped in their vehicles and rescuers had to work to get them out.

The other individuals involved in the crash were also hurt in the accident. Once removed from his vehicle, the driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital. So too was the son of the woman who died in the incident.

The crash is currently under investigation. The investigation will likely focus on what caused the deceased woman to lose control of her car. There are many things that could have caused this to occur including a medical emergency of some sort.

While the others involved in the crash are undoubtedly focused on healing, it is possible that a personal injury lawsuit could be filed by the man in the pickup that was hit. Because there is a time period in which such a claim must be filed it is important to take this action sooner rather than later. Another reason to take this step in a timely manner is to preserve evidence that could help to make one's case.
