Many Ohio residents have likely experienced physical pain or discomfort from an unknown source at some point. In many cases, such aches and pains cease as quickly as they came on and are forgotten. In other cases, however, such pain and discomfort is indicative of a more serious underlying injury, illness or medical condition.

When pain persists, individuals may choose to seek medical advice and care. While in many cases a doctor is able to properly diagnose a patient's condition and recommend an effective treatment plan, sometimes doctors make mistakes. A husband and wife recently filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against a doctor for failing to both diagnose and treat the man's serious health condition. According to the lawsuit, the man was experiencing pain and sought medical treatment. While under the care of the doctor named as the defendant in the lawsuit, the man sustained severe and permanent injuries to his spinal cord.

The man's injuries resulted from a large epidural abscess which the defendant failed to both diagnose and treat. As a result of the doctor's alleged negligence, the man suffered severe physical and mental pain and anguish and injuries that left him paralyzed. The couple is seeking to recover damages related to permanent disability, loss of income and medical expenses.

Ohio residents who have been adversely impacted due to a doctor's failure to diagnose or adequately treat an injury or medical condition may choose to take legal action.
