Individuals involved in rollover accidents often describe the event as being terrifying. Rollover accidents are among some of the most serious car accidents and often result in those drivers and passengers involved sustaining serious or even fatal injuries. One serious rollover accident was recently witnessed by an area news crew as they were traveling westbound on Ohio's Interstate 680.

As the news crew was traveling down I-680, the driver of a car seemed to lose control of her vehicle. The car swerved and crashed violently into the highway's center median. The force of the collision caused the car to flip and rollover into the path of oncoming traffic before finally coming to rest. Members of the news crew were among the first on the accident scene and called 911.

As first responders arrived at the accident scene, they were forced to use the jaws of life to free the 20-year-old female driver of the badly damaged car. A 20-year-old female passenger was also pulled from the vehicle. Both women were cited for not wearing seat belts. They were both taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.

When reading the report of this violent rollover crash, it seems miraculous that both the driver and passenger lived. This is especially amazing considering that neither of the young women were wearing seat belts. This accident serves as a reminder to Ohio residents of the importance of both wearing a seat belt and staying alert and attentive while driving. Police have not released details of what factors lead to the crash. It's likely, however, that the 20-year-old driver was distracted at the time the accident occurred.
