People throughout the Pittsburgh area rely upon vehicles to get them from one place to another. Few of those people think about all of the parts that have been put together to make the vehicle work. With so many parts, there is always the possibility that certain parts will be defective of not work the way they were intended. These auto defects commonly lead to recalls.
Yet another car maker has issued a recall of some of its vehicles. This time the vehicles are manufactured by Subaru. The recall is due to problems with lights in the doors known as "puddle lights." Should these lights get wet from a liquid containing a substance such as salt, it is possible that they could short circuit. In the worst situation the short circuiting could lead to a fire.
Included in the recall are varying years of the following models: Tribeca SUV, Legacy sedan, Outback wagon and Forester SUV. Though a total of 630,000 vehicles are included in the recall, the car maker has indicated that many fewer vehicles than those recalled could potentially have the issue. Instead, it estimates that approximately 54,000 cars will need to be repaired, which the manufacturer is offering to do free of charge.
While all products liability cases have the potential to be complicated this is especially true when the defective product involved is an automobile. This is because its operation is dependent on all of the many parts working together at the right time. Because of the element of complexity in potential cases it is a good idea to consult an attorney sooner rather than later.
