Despite the trust consumers throughout the state of Pennsylvania put into the hands of manufactures of products, it seems as though consumers are regularly let down when it comes to the design or manufacture of products. These products take every shape and form including those used items used around the home.

It is of course never okay for a product to pose a danger to those who purchase and use it. When the dangerous or defective product is one that may be used by many different people each day, it sometimes seems worse however. This is due to the increased risk of injury.

One of the most recent items to be recalled is a step stool found in homes throughout the nation. The product was recalled because of five reports of the top step breaking causing users to fall. At least one individual was injured when he or she fell and suffered abrasions and scrapes.

The stool was sold under the name Easy Reach by Gorilla Ladders 3-Step Pro Series Step Stools. Each stool was constructed with a steel tubular frame and three steps made of plastic. They also have a tool holder also made of plastic. It was available for purchase in Home Depot stores between April and August of this year. In all, approximately 84,000 of the stools were sold during that period of time.

Anyone who has the step stool in their home is being directed to contact the importer of the item, Tricam Industries Inc. Just what the next step will be is not currently clear. If however someone is seriously hurt because of the defective stool, that person may want to consult an attorney who handles products liability cases.
