Car accidents are not the only way in which residents of Pennsylvania are injured. Personal injury lawsuits are filed each day throughout the state for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the situation that leads to an individual being injured is surprising and hard to imagine.
Recently news broke that a Pennsylvania man filed a personal injury lawsuit in conjunction with injuries he suffered while at his bachelor party. He reportedly ruptured his bladder due to one of the activities the group undertook. At the time the man was hurt, in November 2012, he was at a strip club.
The man's lawsuit alleges that his friends purchased a special package from the strip club in which he was told to lie on the stage near a stripper pole. When he did so, a dancer reportedly slid down the pole, slamming on top of him. In addition to the ruptured kidney, the bachelor also suffered nerve damage.
The injuries were diagnosed the following day when the man sought medical treatment at a hospital.
The man is seeking damages for the injuries he suffered due to the negligent actions of individuals at the strip club. He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. It is likely that at least a portion of any money recovered would be put toward medical bills.
How this case will play out remains to be seen. While some personal injury lawsuits of course go to trial, many are resolved before either party sets foot in a courtroom. We will monitor the case and post updates as they become available.
